Past Exhibits
More than 400,000 Jews served in the Soviet Red Army during World War II. They came from a wide range of social, economic, and educational backgrounds. Some had been raised in religiously observant families, others in secular households. They enlisted for patriotic and personal reasons, fought in all branches of the armed forces, and earned the highest honors in contributing to the defeat of Nazi Germany.
