
The Center for Jewish History offers a broad range of fellowships to PhD students, postdoctoral students, independent scholars, and professors of all ranks. Each year, the Center welcomes dozens of fellows to conduct research in the Lilian Goldman Reading Room using the archival sources of our five partner organizations (American Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute, Yeshiva University Museum, and YIVO Institute for Jewish Research).
Some of these fellows are affiliated with the Center’s Institute for Advanced Research, which offers an array of endowed fellowships of varying lengths. The Center is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of academic scholarship. Starting in 2025-26, the Center’s Academic Advisory Council will be directly involved in the selection of all fellows in the Center’s annual fellowship cohort.
