Celebrating the Opening of Ruth’s Bookstore
On February 27, the Center for Jewish History gathered for an intimate celebration marking the opening of Ruth’s Bookstore, a space where Jewish history comes to life. This bookstore was the vision of Ruth Lapidus, whose passion for learning and storytelling inspired its creation. While Sid Lapidus, Chair Emeritus of the American Jewish Historical Society and a longtime supporter of the Center, has long championed Jewish scholarship, Ruth saw the need for a place where visitors could hold history in their hands and take it home.
Thanks to their generosity, we now have this beautiful bookstore that warmly welcomes all who enter.
