In conjunction with the Museum and Laboratory of the Jewish Comics Experience, Yeshiva University Museum and the Center for Jewish History present the work of Bernard Eliyahu Sidi.
Born in Paris in 1936, Sidi’s life has followed a surprising path of wanderings, homecomings, goat cheese making, and prolific artistic creativity.
Sidi’s vivid and often humorous renditions of Talmudic texts draw heavily on the visual approaches found in comic books, as seen in his use of multilayered layouts, vibrant pigments, bold outlines, stylized representations, and black-ink text blocks.
